Mount Abu City Guide
The town of Mount Abu is located at an elevation of 1220 meters in Sirohi district of Rajasthan. Mount Abu is the highest peak in the Aravalli Range. It is the only hill resort in the desert land of Rajasthan. The lushness of Mount Abu makes the hill resort being referred to as the paradise of Rajasthan.
Attractions of Mount Abu :
Dilwara Temples : It is a brilliantly carved Jain temple. It was constructed during 11th and 13th centuries A.D. It is rated among the finest of Indian temples.
Neminath Temple : This temple is built in the Solanki styled architecture. The temple has a lotus flower which hangs down from the central dome in the veranda.
Nakki Lake : The Lake is the favorite tourists’ destination in Mt. Abu. Tourists can enjoy boating here. Boats are available for hire at reasonable rates.
Sunset Point : At a short distance from the lake, a spectacular view of the sunset can be witnessed here in quiet contemplation of nature. It gave a wonderful image of the nature.
Guru Shikar : This is the highest peak of Rajasthan. It is at an altitude of 5,676 feet. It imposes a superb view of Abu and its surroundings. Some temples to visit here are Mira Temple, Chaumundi Temple and a small Shaivite shrine.
Summer Festival : This festival is organized only in this town. Folk dances are the specialty of this tiny hill resort. The festival is believed to be held in the coldest month of year.
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary : This wildlife sanctuary is located on the oldest parts of the mountain range. Thousands of people visit the place for sightseeing and enjoying activities of wildlife in a very natural setting. The Sanctuary is full of floral beauty.

How to Reach :
Road : Mount Abu is linked with Udaipur and Ahmedabad by road. The nearest national highway NH-14 is at 24 Km.
Rail : Abu Road Station has direct trains from Delhi, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Agra. The station is at a distance of 27 km.
Air : The nearest airport is Udaipur at a distance of 185 km. But Ahmedabad is having better connectivity and daily flights with other parts of the country.
