Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Bharatpur is known for bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghanna National Park. The park has provided opportunity to see hundreds of different species of birds in just a few days. Bharatpur is located at 50 km west from Agra city. It is one of the most visited destinations in the country. One can easily drive from Delhi as it can be covered in 5 hours. It is very near to Mathura.

Bharatpur is also considered as eastern gateway of Rajasthan.

Attractions in Bharatpur :

Keoladeo Ghana National Park : Keoladeo Ghana National Park formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. It is one of the favorite tourist spot among birds and wildlife lover. The park is famous for bird watching with a rickshaw ride. Thousands of rare and highly endangered birds such as the Siberian Crane come here during the winter season. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Lohagarh Fort : Lohagarh Fort was constructed by Bharatpur Jat rulers, Maharaja Suraj Mal. The fort has three palaces within its precincts- kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas, Kothi Khas. Some interesting monuments in the fort are Moti Mahal, Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj.

Government Museum : The museum has a rich collection of artifacts, beautifully carved sculptures and antique inscriptions. All these items reveal the rich heritage, arts and crafts of the region.

Other places to visit in Bharatpur are Golbagh Palace, Laxmi Vilas Palace, Ganga temple, Laxman temple, Nehru Park, etc.
