Alwar City GuideAlwar is located at a distance of 160 km from Delhi, and about 150 km north of Jaipur. It comes under National Capital Region (NCR). It is located between small hills of the Aravalli range.

The city has a rich natural heritage. It houses some beautiful lakes and picturesque valleys. Alwar has Sariska Wild Life Sanctuaries, which is an excellent tiger country. It is one of the good wildlife habitats of India.

Ajmer holds the record of withstanding highest ever recorded temperature of 50.6 °C in 1956.

Attractions of Alwar :
The Alwar fort (Bala Quila): The huge Alwar fort has 15 large and 51 small towers with 446 loopholes for musketry. The fort has eight towers around it to strengthen its defense with six gates. A splended view of the Alwar city can be enjoyed from the towers of this fort.

Bhangarh : This place is one of the most haunted places of world. It is not allowed to enter or stay inside the fort premises after sunset and before sunrise by govt. of India. Bhangarh is known for its ruins, but is worth a visit. In fact the place is full of beauty and tranquility. It is believed that the fort contains shadow of a once beautiful queen.

Sariska Tiger Reserve : This Tiger reserve is one of the most famous national parks in India. Big populations of tigers are found in the park. Some of the finest variety of birds and animals are also spotted here.

Sariska Palace :
The Sariska Palace is located on the edge of Sariska National Park as a royal hunting lodge. The interiors of Sariska Palace is a blend of French and regal architecture. It is a world class hotel and offer most comfortable accommodation.

Apart from above mentioned places tourists should also visit Ajabgarh Fort, Haldia Bhawan, Siliserh Lake, Jaismand Lake, Government Museum, Purjan Vihar, Nehru Garden and other picturesque places.
