The Jal Mahal Palace, Jaipur was built the popular Sawai Pratap Singh of Rajasthan in the historic year of 1799 A.D .This palace is famous for its intricate style of architecture. The Palace was developed as a pleasure spot in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. This palace was mainly used by the royal families for arranging royal duck shooting parties. The royal families take part in these games with great enthusiasm.

On the way to Amber by road which is located at a distance of 6.5 kilometers from Jaipur the visitors can come across some cenotaphs of the royal family. Jal Mahal Palace is located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake which is just opposite to the cenotaphs. The first four floors of this extremely magnificient building is under water.

The visitors can view the top floor of the palace which is not submerged under water. The visitors can have a splendid view of this extremely beautiful lake and the palace from the Jal Mahal, Jaipur. During the rainy season the palace looks stunning with red sandstone which is beautifully set against the Man Sagar Lake.

The Man Sagar Lake was formed by building a dam between two hills by the most popular Sawai Man Singh I. During the winter season you can get to see different species of migratory birds out here. So bird watchers also love to pay a visit to this venue.

Best timeThe best time to visit the Jal Mahal or the Water Palace is during October to march. During this period you can find many visitors from all across the world out here.

The visitors can either board local buses plying over the city to reach the Jal Mahal Moreover the visitors can also hire rickshaws, tempos and even taxis. But it is always advisable to book a taxi through a genuine travel agent.
