Pushkar is the only place where the temple of Lore Brahma – the creator of world according to Hindu mythology is situated at. The small town of Pushkar is also known for a picturesque holy lake and camel fair.

The world famous Pushkar Fair is celebrated in the Hindu month of Kartika. The fair starts on Kartika Shukla Ekadashi and continues for five day till Kartika Purnima. People from all over the world come to this little town of Pushkar during the period of Pushkar Fair and mammoth cattle festival. Some major attractions of Pushkar Fair are Camel trading, colorful bazaars, dance, music, auctions, camel & elephant racing, sports and exquisite handicrafts.

Elephant races, camel races and bullock-cart races are the great crowd pullers to the fair. Music, dance and Rajasthani people dressed in colorful costumes also draw the attention of tourists to the fair.

The small town of Pushkar, Rajasthan, India is well-connected from all the major cities of India by road and rail. To arrive at Pushkar by air, the nearest airport from Pushkar is Jaipur Airport at the distance of 146 km.
