Overlapping with the Gangaur Festival, every year to welcome the advent of spring, the Mewar Festival of Udaipur in the state of Rajasthan, India, is celebrated with great zest and zeal. This festival is celebrated in the Hindu month of Chaitra (March-April). The Mewar Festival has unique charm about it. The festival has a special & great significance for the girls and women of Rajasthan, India.

The performance of folk dancers, traditional musician, folk singers, dace, procession, etc is the major attractions of this Mewar Festival. Rajasthani people especially women take part in this festival with great zeal and zest. Young girls and women dress up themselves in beautiful clothes. They decorate their hands and feet with Menhadi (Heena).

Young girls and women dress and decorate the images of Isar and Gangaur and take them in a traditional parade passing through the different parts of the City of Lakes – Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Finally at the Gangaur Ghat idols are offered to the lake with the religious singing and festivity. Gangaur Ghat is at the picturesque lake – Lake Pichola. Lake Pichola is a very popular spot for enjoying the boat cruise.
