The camel country Bikaner is one of the three destinations of the desert circuit cities of Rajasthan. Junagarh Fort : The palace is exquisitely built in red sandstone and marble of the palace have ornate mirror work, carvings and paintings. There is as many as 37 palaces inside the fort important among them are Chandra Mahal, Phool Mahal and Karan Mahal. The museum inside fort encloses priceless miniature paintings and extraordinary antiques that are of great interest for art lovers.
Lalgarh Palace: The palace is coated in red sandstone and has several grand halls, lounges, cupolas and pavilions. The Lalgarh Palace features Italian colonnades and intricate latticework and filigree work. The palace has a billiards room, a library (fourth largest in world), a cards room and a smoking room.
Laxmi Niwas Palace : The Laxmi Niwas Palace is a massive palace designed by the British architect Sir S.S. Jacob. It was built in 1900s. The palace has Indo- Saracenic architectural style. The palace has been converted into a luxury hotel. It is made of red sandstone and is one of the most popular places to visit in Bikaner.
Camel Research Centre : This largest camel farm in Asia was established in 1984. This research centre conducts research for improvement of camel breeding.
Camel Festival : This festival is celebrated every year in the month of January/February. Folk dances, music, decorated camel procession and camel dances are the prime features of this festival.
